Picnic in the park and spend lunch hour gazing at Topis, elands, zebras, and primates such as olive baboons, vervet monkeys, and bush babies. The afternoon boat ride on Lake Ihema is an absolute favorite for birders. Up to 155 bird species have been documented here.

Day 3 of the 6 Days Best Rwanda Safari: Game Drive and Transfer to Volcano National Park.

After an early breakfast, continue your adventure within Akagera national park. Enjoy the beautiful sceneries of Rwanda’s hilly landscape, comprised of a blend of wetland, savannah, and woodland; the natural forests also make quite a view.

The location of the park shows that it lies at a lower altitude as compared to the rest of the country, so it is not only warmer but drier. Look out for animal species you may have missed sighting the previous day such as Giraffes, Buffalos, and antelopes.

More birds await to amaze you like the Shoebill Stork, usually spotted around the lake shores. From here, drive out to Volcanoes National Park.

Accommodation: Mid-range: Classic lodge, Budget: Best view Hotel

Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast.

Day 4: Golden Monkeys Trekking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Mountainous, forested, gifted with wildlife, this Volcanoes National Park is a Rwandan ecological gem. In the calm, breezy highland forest, you can trek golden monkeys on foot. Be keen as you approach the bamboos as these resplendent monkeys like to reside there.

Golden Monkey Trekking is a unique and rare activity because these primates are only found in two other locations on the globe (Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo). Call it a day and drive to Bwindi National Park for overnight and dinner.
